A rising pop star more than able to hold his own ground, alextbh turns 23 this year and is also widely considered to be Malaysia’s first queer icon.
His journey to discovering the joys of making music has been largely millennial in a good way, having had his first taste of audio production via GarageBand on an iPad. That was the initial spark, as it wasn’t till years later when he single handedly mixed and mastered his first single, bit the bullet, and posted it on Spotify.
Less than 3 years later, that exact self-produced piece of work now boasts spectacular streaming numbers of more than 11 million plays and is also hugely responsible for how quickly his following built up.
Going on to open for massive, internationally-renowned acts such as Khalid and Sevdaliza are now just other accolades in his list of achievements as he strives in committing to serve the queer community first and foremost through his signature brand of R&B and to allow them easy access to a platform to speak freely on.
